Terms of Service

By accessing or using ChatAtlas ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

ChatAtlas is a personal productivity application that allows you to import, store, organize, search, and revisit conversations from AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and others. The Service includes features such as folder organization, tagging, semantic search, and AI-powered summarization.

ChatAtlas is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, or any other AI platform whose conversation formats may be supported.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use ChatAtlas. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that have been inactive for an extended period, with reasonable notice where practical.

You retain full ownership of all conversation data and content you import into ChatAtlas. By uploading content, you grant ChatAtlas a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and store any content you add to ChatAtlas. You must not upload content that is illegal, harmful, or that violates the rights of others.

We do not claim ownership over your conversations and will not use your conversation content for training AI models or any other purpose beyond operating the Service.

You agree not to use ChatAtlas to:

• Upload or store any unlawful, abusive, threatening, or otherwise objectionable content
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or other users' data
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, or overburden our infrastructure
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service

ChatAtlas may integrate with third-party services (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) to provide certain features. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. ChatAtlas is not responsible for the actions, content, or policies of third-party services.

Any API keys you provide for third-party platforms remain your responsibility. You must ensure your use of those keys complies with the respective platform's terms of service. ChatAtlas stores such keys only in your browser's local storage and does not transmit them to our servers.

The ChatAtlas application, including its design, code, branding, and all original content created by us, is our intellectual property and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our original content without our prior written consent.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights in the Service to you beyond the limited right to use the Service as described herein.

ChatAtlas is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. AI-generated summaries and search results are provided for convenience and may not be accurate or complete.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ChatAtlas and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or unauthorized access to your account.

In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or $10 USD.

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through the Service or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your conversation data will be permanently removed from our servers within a reasonable timeframe. We recommend exporting your data before requesting deletion.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

You may discontinue use of the Service at any time. Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that arose before termination.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if necessary, through binding arbitration or a court of competent jurisdiction.
